Thank you so much for your interest! I am working on it now, and it should be ready in the next few days. It discusses the work of our eminent mujtahid and law school founder, Imam Muhammad ibn Idris al-Shafi'i, whose legacy, piety, and talent truly makes the task daunting, so I want to take all pains to present his life's work in the best way I can. May Allah have mercy on him.

Ameen. Also, I believe the last section of your essay about how Shafi'i's approached the question of corporal punishments deserves further inquiry; perhaps an appendix in the forthcoming essay? The chain of thought with which you approached the last section made the case very compelling to read!

Very apt observation. How the Imam discussed the question of the hudood within his usuli (not furu'i) works is actually the main subject of the next essay. I really appreciate your encouragement and kind words.
